What's included
Interview with You
An initial non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to have this meeting. Serious inquiries only. Will count towards your final payment. The output will be at a minimum a basic Latin supported font in OTF and TTF formats.
We will talk about what you want to be created. You will provide references, guidance, inspiration, and details about the design. We will discuss the breadth of the font variations at this time - including but not limited to weights, widths, and style variations.
Each major iteration you choose will increase the price. You will receive a bid with various options to choose from. From this bid, you can decide to move forward or not.
An upfront 1/3 or minimum $250 of the bid price will be due before work begins. Another 1/3 after the sketches are done, and the final 1/3 is due to receive the final version of the font download.
Fonts do not include the commercial rights, but you may purchase those rights for a starting price of $3,000 for a basic Latin character set.
More complexity to the font increases the price of the service and commercial licensing rights.
initial Sketch with Your Feedback
You will give me a 3-5 word phrase to be used to sketch out the initial letters, and I will draw up to 5 numbers and some basic punctuation as I feel is necessary to give character to the design.
Delving further into Sketches - part 1 - and Review
After the initial feedback from you, I will delve deeper into the rest of the characters of the alphabet, punctuation, symbols, and numbers. I will sketch out roughly half of the characters you can find on a typical keyboard. This includes more numbers, more of the lower and upper case alphabet, major punctuation, and symbols.
We will discuss the current progress and you'll have a chance to provide feedback.
Delving further into Sketches - part 2 - and Review
I will complete the last half of sketches of the remaining alphabet, numbers, symbols, and punctuation for us to review and provide feedback.
The 2nd 1/3 of payment is due at this step to have this review and move forward into font creation.
Demo of Font - Beta Version
I will start transferring the sketches into a font, with rough kerning and font metrics. I will send you a demo for your review. No major changes will be accepted. Minor adjustments may be considered but not guarantees on implementation - I will advise you on if the change will make it in to the final design.
Final Font - OTF/TTF File
The final version of the font will be completed and the final 1/3 of payment is due to receive it. Ownership license will be transferred to you and you may sell and redistribute the font as you wish.
