An internal tool, a dashboard, an admin panel or a small product, built end to end and deployed, by one engineer who also owns the database and the server.
What you get: a React frontend, a FastAPI or Node.js backend and PostgreSQL. Authentication and role-based permissions. Deployment with Docker Compose behind nginx on your server or VPS, with backups configured. Tests on the parts that would silently break, and a handover doc so another developer can pick it up.
Why one engineer: I run a multi-subdomain manufacturing ERP on my own, from the schema to the deployment to the backup system. Small builds go faster without handoffs between a frontend person, a backend person and a devops person.
Optional add-on: an ML or LLM layer on top, forecasting, document automation or search. Scoped after the MVP is running.
