Offering professional illustration services for children's books, bringing stories and characters to life with vibrant and engaging artwork.

Process

Step 1: Initial chat: Here i will discuss the project with you getting to know what is important to you in terms of story, layout, visuals and target audience. I will also go over all the technical aspects based on this info to give you a clear timeline, budget and to fix all the technical aspects for the project like page counts and sizes.

Step 2: Look development: Taking everything that I have learned from step 1 I will create design sheets testing out a range of looks from colour pallet to line work. I will send these tests to you for feedback and then using your critique I will refine the work until it is perfect.

Step 3: Sketch layout: Here I will create a rough layout for the text of the book and include sketch composition illustrations to give you an idea of how each page should look. Again sending this to you for feedback.

Step 4: Full colour illustrations: Here you will start seeing full pages coming together. It can take between 1 and 4 days to create a full illustration. I will send you regular samples for feedback and will make all the appropriate changes as i go.

Step 5: Cover artwork and final tweaks/layout revisions: Here is were we tidy everything up dotting the i's and crossing the t's. It is the chance to put the final polish on the projects as we get the print ready files together for you.

Full Illustration For Your Children's Book
I will collaborate with you to bring your text to life will highly detailed full illustrations. I will adapt my style to suit your vision for your project bringing my own experience and creative flare to maximise the impact for your story and your audience.
Front and Back Cover Design
Working with you I will create compelling artwork for your front and back covers as well all know we judge books by their covers. I will also handle all the technical layout elements like credits, ISBN placement and spine calculation.
Book Design and Layout
I will layout your manuscript in parallel to the illustration design making sure that they all the elements of your book complement each other perfectly. This includes sourcing the perfect font and developing the paragraph styles.
