You have an idea for a mobile app, but no designs to hand off to your developer. Or you have an existing app that needs a full redesign. Either way, you need a product designer who understands how users think, not just how screens look.
I follow the Double Diamond process. First, I research and define the real problem. What are your business goals? Who are your users and what do they need? What are the constraints? Once this is clear, I move to solutions: exploring different directions, testing what works, and designing the final result.

What's included:

Research and problem definition
User flows and app structure
All screens designed in Figma
Token-based design system (colors, typography, spacing, components). One change updates every screen.
Design notes and specs for your developer
Async updates on progress (Slack, Loom, or email)
Revisions until you are happy with the result

This service works best for:

Founders building an app from scratch
Startups redesigning an existing mobile product
Teams that need a designer who thinks about the product, not just the UI
FAQs
It depends on where you are. Some clients come with a detailed brief, wireframes, and references. Others have just an idea and a few notes. Both work. We will figure out what is missing during the discovery phase, and I will ask questions to fill the gaps.
I adapt to whatever tools you already use. Slack, Telegram, email, Loom, Figma comments. For quick decisions, async works best. For bigger discussions or feedback rounds, we can jump on a call. I send regular updates on what is done and what is next.
I focus on design, but I work closely with developers to make sure nothing gets lost during implementation. The Figma file I deliver includes design notes, specs, and a token-based design system that makes the developer's job easier. I can also join calls with your dev team if questions come up during the build.
That happens with most startups and it is completely normal. Small changes, we adjust and keep going. If the direction shifts significantly, we pause, reassess what needs to change, and agree on next steps before continuing. Since you pay hourly, there is no need to renegotiate a fixed price. You pay for the actual work.
Yes. If you already have brand guidelines, a component library, or designs from a previous designer, I can work with what you have and build on top of it. If there is no system yet, I will create one from scratch as part of the project.
Yes. Just let me know before we start and I will sign it.
I track my hours daily and share a report with you at the end of each week or billing period. You always know how much time was spent and on what. If you use a specific time tracking tool, I can adapt to that as well.
Yes, and I recommend it. In my experience, the handoff stage is where most design projects lose quality. I stay involved during development, answer questions, review the implementation, and help fix inconsistencies. This saves time and avoids situations where the final product looks different from the design.
That is a good starting point. I will review what you have, identify what works and what needs to change, and build from there. I do not start from zero if it is not necessary. But if the existing designs have structural problems, I will be honest about it and explain why some parts might need to be redone.
Yes. We can start with a paid discovery phase or a specific part of the product to see how we work together. Most of my long-term projects started this way. Once you see the results, we can continue with the full scope.
