FAQs

  • Do you create the content in the prototypes?

For high-fidelity prototypes, it's best if you provide the content, such as text, images, and files, as you have a better understanding of your target audience and project requirements. However, if the content is not available, I can use placeholder content initially to help you visualize the layout and structure of the prototype. This placeholder content should be replaced by your developers, content writers, or the designated person in charge of such information on your team, the final, high-quality content should come from your team.

  • Do you create brand guidelines?

I do not create brand guidelines as part of this service. To ensure consistency with your brand's identity, please have your brand guidelines ready before we begin the project. It is recommended that you provide your brand assets in different formats, such as SVG, PNG, and JPEG, especially for icons and images. Using JPEG for images can help improve loading times in your projects without significantly compromising image quality. This will help maintain the visual quality and ensure that your brand is accurately represented in the final product while balancing performance.

  • Is there a price for a consultation before hiring you?

I offer a free initial consultation to help me better understand your project, your users' needs, and to provide you with an accurate, transparent quote. During this consultation, we will discuss your project requirements, goals, and any specific concerns you may have. After the consultation, I will provide a detailed quote that outlines the services included and the estimated time required for the completion of your project. This will give you a clear understanding of the scope of work and the associated costs before you decide to hire me.

  • Who recruits participants for usability research?

Participant recruitment for usability research can vary depending on your preference and the project's complexity. I can either take care of participant recruitment for you, or you can handle it yourself. The choice will impact the overall fee. We can discuss the specifics during our initial consultation, and I will provide a chart outlining the various options and associated fees. These fees may vary depending on factors such as the project's complexity, the number of participants required, and the desired demographics. Together, we will determine the most suitable approach for your project's needs and budget.

  • How are usability testing and user feedback incorporated into the wireframing and prototyping process?

Usability testing and user feedback play a crucial role in the wireframing and prototyping process. After creating wireframes or prototypes, they are tested with real users who provide valuable feedback on their experience and any usability issues they encounter. This feedback is then analyzed and used to iterate on the design, making necessary adjustments and improvements to enhance the product's usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.

What's included

  • Stage 1: Pre-Design Research

Over the course of 3 days, I will gain a deep understanding of your project goals and objectives based on your prior research. I will then dedicate 7 days to analyzing your target audience, drawing insights from the research you've already conducted. Next, I will perform a market research and competitive audit over the course of 15 days, concentrating on 3-5 of your direct competitors. After gathering the necessary data, I will spend 5 days on synthesis and strategy development to establish a solid design foundation for your project. Finally, I will allocate 3 days to document and organize the research findings, ensuring a clear and concise presentation of my discoveries and recommendations. This starter tier offers a thorough and methodical approach to lay the groundwork for a successful project.

  • Stage 2: Wireframing (wireframes)

For the second stage, I begin by creating 1-5 hand-sketched wireframes over 3 days, exploring ideas for layout, structure, and interaction design. Next, I dedicate 7 days to translating 1-5 paper wireframes into digital format using Figma. After that, I present the initial wireframes to you, focusing on 1-5 wireframes for collaborative feedback over 6 days. Based on your input, I spend 12 days refining and adjusting 1-5 wireframes. Finally, I dedicate 3 days to finalizing 1-5 wireframes, ensuring they align with your vision and are ready for the next design phase. This tier offers a solid foundation for your project, with a focus on collaboration and iteration to achieve a satisfying result.

  • Stage 3: Low-Fidelity Prototype

For this stage and tier level, I spend 5 days creating initial low-fidelity prototypes with functional animations and Lorem Ipsum text. Over 6 days, I collaborate with you, the client, presenting prototypes and gathering feedback. I then dedicate 12 days to iterative refinement (this two steps are joined together, making it 18 days in total), implementing changes based on feedback. Finally, I allocate 3 days for finalization, ensuring prototypes reflect client feedback and are ready for approval.

  • Stage 4 and 4.1: First Usability Testing Research Study

First usability testing research study: In this usability testing research study, the process begins with recruitment, where you have the option to either collaborate in identifying and recruiting 1-3 participants or leave the participant search entirely in my hands, utilizing tools like SurveyMonkey and Google Forms to pinpoint the ideal candidates based on your target audience, albeit with an additional cost (Stage 4.1.) The study then advances to the interview stage, where I craft an introduction, develop 1-8 tailored research questions, establish key performance indicators, and select appropriate methodologies. If needed, participant anonymity is ensured through aliases. Finally, I prepare detailed scripts and a comprehensive schedule to seamlessly conduct the research sessions with the participants. This whole stage is meant to be conducted on a low-fidelity prototype.

  • Stage 5: First Usability Testing Report

The starter level tier for the usability testing report offers a thorough analysis derived from the usability testing research study conducted on your low-fidelity prototype. This report is structured to deliver actionable insights with 1-3 recommendations for enhancing user experience. Key aspects of the report are: - Executive Summary: The report starts with an executive summary that outlines the objectives, methodology, and key findings from the study. - Methodology: I explain the methodology used in the usability testing research, including details on the testing approach, the number of participants (1-3 users), and the tasks they were asked to complete. - Findings and Insights: The report provides an in-depth analysis of the findings from the usability testing sessions, focusing on the low-fidelity prototype functionality, layout, and overall user experience. - Recommendations: I provide 1-3 actionable recommendations to optimize the user experience based on the findings and insights. - Visual Aids and Examples: Visual aids, such as screenshots and annotations, are included to illustrate the findings and recommendations.

  • Stage 6: High-Fidelity Prototype

At the starter tier level, the development of a high-fidelity prototype evolves from your low-fidelity version, integrating feedback from the initial usability testing research. This advanced prototype aims to elevate both functionality and visual aesthetics of your digital product. Key aspects include: - Incorporating Feedback: I carefully review the findings from the usability testing report and incorporate the recommendations into the design, refining the user interface and addressing usability concerns. - Enhanced Functionality: I implement basic functionality, such as simple form submissions and transitions. - Visual Refinement: I refine typography, color schemes, and other design elements to align with your brand identity and create a visually appealing user interface. - Iterative Testing and Refinement: I continue to test and refine the high-fidelity prototype based on your feedback and any additional usability testing to ensure the final product meets your expectations.
