My literary consulting business, Of the Wood has been, and is, in the trenches with you! I am a writer myself and have been running Of the Wood, a virtual local bookstore, and publishing my own collections of classic novels and bestselling reading journals on Amazon and Etsy.

This experience has taught me first-hand about the overwhelm that small business owners, and especially authors, face. I want to be your buoy, keeping you not only afloat, but ahead of your targets so you can focus on writing.

I work virtually! Of the Wood is not an employer to add to your business, but an independent contractor which for you means no training, no healthcare, no PTO, office supplies, office rent, or awful paperwork! I work from home in hours we establish together. This freedom in scheduling allows you the breathing room to focus on what you love. (I know, I sound like a broken record but it is so important that you have the time to write!!!)

On that note, I take communication very seriously! I work with YOU to determine the best schedule and make it a priority to keep you informed, in the loop, and to be available should you need me!

I am transparent. Arguably the hardest part of hiring a virtual consultant is knowing what you are getting from this person you haven’t even been able to shake hands with. (Do people still do that in a COVID-world?) That is why I make it a point to not only be communicative, but to be transparent in what I can and cannot offer during our discovery call and provide a detailed breakdown of all costs, deliverables, and time-tables.
