A book must meet certain standards before it can be published whether traditionally or digitally. I help bring your manuscript up to those standards by revising it for grammatical, spelling, punctuation and capitalization errors as well as making it visually appealing to readers. This involves layout design including paragraphing, indentation, selection of font size and type, line spacing and alignment. There is also the inclusion of certain features:

Chapter headers

Page numbers

Headers & Footers

Scene breaks (simple asterisks or art).

Relevant mages (including utilization of the bleed feature)

Front & Back Matter (signing page, title page, copyright page, acknowledgements, dedication, preface, glossary, also by and author bio).

My exceptional skills in Microsoft Word and most notably, my knowledge of VBA programming means that efficiency is not only heightened but consistency is maintained. With VBA, once you can do it once, you can do it a million times. Once one chapter is set, the same layout would unfailingly be implemented throughout the document gifting it a sense of harmony that is visually appealing.

Once the manuscript is received, it is opened in Microsoft Word where the proofreading process is to take place.

Equipped with profound knowledge of English grammar and syntax and a keen eye for errors as well as Word's spelling check, Grammarly, Hemingway Editor, style guides, and English dictionaries, the painstaking process of proofreading is carried out on the manuscript.

The Track Changes feature of MS Word is used so that all changes made are highlighted and must be subsequently accepted or rejected by the client.

After proofreading is done, the document is sent to the client for approval.

On client's approval, all changes are accepted and the second phase begins.

The document is reopened in the Microsoft Word environment.

After consulting with the client, the layout is designed and set up using the Styles tab of Microsoft Word.

Upon client's wishes, chapter headers and scene breaks may be designed in the Canva environment and exported into Word.

Codes for the insertion of chapter headers and scene breaks are written in VBA and applied throughout the document.

Headers and page numbers are inserted throughout the document according to industry's standards and the client's wishes.

Front & Back matter are included as the client desires.

Proper section and page breaks are inserted to make sure that the integrity of the layout is maintained no matter the machine the document is opened on.

The finished document is sent to the client either in PDF/DOCX format.
