Process

I start by previewing and organizing the material that is available to me and analyzing methodically the strongpoints of the scenes and what emotion or character the cut should emphasize on. I cut and sync the audio on every useable piece of video and put the takes one against the other and slowly build the sequence and the rhythm of the scene. At the end of the scene just cut, I evaluate what the overall sensibility I am going for is and recut it accordingly. After the raw cut is at a place I am comfortable with, I polish it to a point that it feels fluid visually as well as audibly. This is the moment I look for feedback, and then recut the scene and the tempo until it works for the larger context that it is put in, then rework the pieces and so on, until we have a finished product.
