How we work
1. Prioritize
We maintain a shared backlog and agree on the highest-value work to focus on.
2. Design and review
I work through the selected problems, share progress asynchronously, and review important UX directions before final UI.
3. Support implementation
I prepare work for development, document important behavior, answer implementation questions, and review the built product where needed.
4. Reprioritize
As priorities change, we adjust the backlog rather than creating a new scope for every task.
This retainer works best for
Product teams with an active roadmap and ongoing design work
Teams with developers but no dedicated senior product designer
Teams that want the same designer involved from product decisions through implementation
Capacity and scope
The retainer reserves 15 hours of my capacity each week for your product.
That time can be used across design work, meetings, reviews, documentation, research, developer collaboration, and design QA.
We usually keep one main priority moving at a time, with smaller tasks handled around it when capacity allows. Work that spans more than one week continues based on the agreed priority.
Unused capacity does not roll over to future weeks. If you need substantially more capacity, we can agree on an expanded scope separately.
The minimum commitment is one month, with the option to continue month-to-month.
What’s not included
The retainer does not include development, coded components, large-scale user research or participant recruitment, branding, or marketing design. Larger standalone initiatives may be better scoped as a separate project.
