Many people have expertise in creating dashboards but they lack a crucial skill that is having business understanding and how to correlate data with business to make sense out of it. My approach is always to understand the business and problem the stakeholders are facing with the current solution then try to solve that problem by creating a dashboard which can be consumed by audience of different interests.

I follow a phase approach: Discovery Phase: Understanding the business and the business problem which needs to be addressed.

Data Discovery Phase: Data sources and richness of data to achieve the desired outcome.

Data Modelling Phase: Data modelling one of the crucial aspects of Power BI. This phase is dedicated for data modelling with an objective of making it scalable and optimized for dashboard performance.

Wireframing and Dashboard Designing Phase: Here I work on wireframe first to align on the design of dashboard then start building dashboards.
