After an initial meeting I'll prepare a document which outlines all the technical challenges which need to be resolved in order to successfully launch the product. This will include rough estimates of timeline and labour required.

A proof of concept application will be prepared which focuses in on the specific challenges that need to be resolved in order to create a commercial-ready product. A solid and reliable proof of concept is often enough to unlock funding from outside investors.

In order to convert the feature focused Proof of Concept into a true end-user focused product a branding strategy, user stories and design mockups need to be prepared. The Branding Document will provide these in a single place which can be reviewed and adjusted quickly. Getting this right significantly simplifies the front end development needed to finalize the product.

Implementing the look and feel from the design document in the product means we've achieved an end-user ready Release Candidate. This can be either released as-is or distributed to a group of test users to start the process of iterative development to drive the product through a series of Alpha/Beta/Final releases before product launch.
