Process

In my vocal empowerment course for public speaking, we’ll work step-by-step on a variety of practical skills designed to build your vocal strength, confidence, and expressiveness, using tried-and-true methods I’ve refined through years of performance. Throughout 12 weeks this is what we’ll cover:
1. Mastering Breath Control and Support
We’ll start with breath techniques that help manage nerves and build vocal strength. These are techniques I use to support my voice under demanding conditions, and they’ll help you project confidence and ease, too.
2. Daily Vocal Warm-Ups and Care
I’ll share a simple, effective warm-up routine that you can use to keep your voice clear and healthy. We’ll go over tips to prevent strain, so you’re ready to speak with ease and endurance.
3. Projection and Volume Techniques
You’ll learn how to create a powerful sound that doesn’t strain your voice, finding the right volume for any space. This skill, essential for performing on stage, will allow you to be heard clearly without forcing your voice.
4. Pitch, Tone, and Resonance
We’ll find the natural tone that feels most authentic to you, and I’ll introduce some exercises using songs to help you strengthen pitch control. Even if you’re not a singer, these techniques bring a musicality to your voice that will capture attention.
5. Clear Articulation and Diction
Articulation is key to being understood. I’ll guide you through exercises for crisp diction and pacing, ensuring every word you say is clear and intentional.
6. Expressing Emotion Through Vocal Dynamics
I’ll introduce techniques from acting to help you use vocal dynamics—like tone, pitch, and volume—to express genuine emotion. You’ll learn how to add warmth, conviction, or authority to your words in a way that feels authentic.
7. Posture and Body Language for Effective Speaking
Using body language effectively can transform your voice. I’ll show you a few simple adjustments in posture that give you more vocal power and presence, making you feel grounded and steady as you speak.
8. Engaging and Connecting with Your Audience
I’ll show you how to bring energy into your voice and connect through eye contact, pauses, and vocal variety. These small adjustments help you feel more connected to your audience, making your message impactful.
9. Overcoming Nerves and Building Confidence
Speaking in front of others can be nerve-wracking, so we’ll use some practical exercises to help calm those nerves. I’ll share grounding techniques that I find useful for centering myself, allowing you to feel more at ease in the spotlight.
10. Vocal Phrasing to Emphasize Key Points
Phrasing and pauses can add power to your message. We’ll work on simple phrasing techniques to bring focus to your most important points and create a natural rhythm that feels comfortable.
11. Finding Your Unique, Authentic Voice
My goal is to help you find a voice that feels true to you. We’ll work on making the most of your natural tone and expression, so you can feel confident in the way you communicate.
12. Using Storytelling to Enhance Your Message
Storytelling is a powerful tool, and we’ll explore how to add vocal highs, lows, and pauses to make your stories come alive. We can use songs that resonate with you to practice storytelling in a way that builds your natural rhythm and flow.
13. Pronunciation and Accent Clarity
I’ll help you find clarity in pronunciation without sacrificing your unique voice and accent, so you feel understood and authentic no matter where you’re speaking.
14. Adapting Your Voice for Different Speaking Contexts
Just as I adjust my voice for different audiences and roles, I’ll help you find a style that feels right in any setting. Together, we’ll make sure you feel confident in everything from presentations to personal conversations.
15. Using Feedback for Ongoing Improvement
Self-assessment is a great way to keep improving. I’ll show you some practical ways to record, listen, and fine-tune your voice over time so that you can keep building on what we learn together.
16. Closing Strong: Finishing with Impact
We’ll work on creating a strong, memorable finish that leaves a lasting impression, so your voice never trails off but instead closes with confidence and strength.
Bonus: Vocal Care for Tired or Sick Voices
I’ll share a few extra tips for those days when your voice feels tired or under the weather, so you know how to take care of it and still communicate effectively.
In this course, you’ll gain practical skills that build vocal power, expressiveness, and resilience. My goal is to help you find the voice that reflects your confidence and authenticity—skills that have helped me sustain my voice and presence on stage, and which I’m excited to share with you!
