STARTER — $500 / 7 calendar days from the agreed start, with complete requirements. One mode, up to 8 text PDF/DOCX documents or 50 pages in total, a fixed initial source set and a standalone chat UI.
YOU RECEIVE: Chat UI, one agreed model/provider, document indexing and retrieval, source citations, insufficient-source handling, source code and checks against agreed questions.
LARGER OPTIONS: Modes & source management: $1100 / 14 days — Up to 3 modes, document upload/remove screen, up to 30 documents or 150 pages, and basic access protection. An internal knowledge tool: $1800 / 21 days — Standard scope plus 2 roles, source re-indexing, up to 200 pages and evaluation against 20 agreed questions.
OUTSIDE THIS PACKAGE: Model/hosting fees, OCR/scanned documents, voice, messaging-channel bots and professional legal or accounting decisions. Retrieval does not guarantee every model answer is correct.
BEFORE STARTING: Documents you have permission to use, representative user questions, a model provider account, access rules and the intended deployment. Use anonymised samples for the initial discussion.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Delochat; EcoGenesis. My role is engineering; design in joint projects is by a designer from the ODD Studio team.
Written communication and source-code handover are included. Model, hosting and provider costs are separate unless explicitly agreed. One active delivery at a time.
