What's included
User flows building for business processes documentation
In this phase we start building the user flows in order to figure out shortcuts or barriers to user actions. We use a mix of storyboarding, activity diagrams and user journeys to make it easily understandable to everyone involved in the production - from POs and BAs to Devs and QAs.
Mid to High-Fidelity mockups creation
This is the fleshed out concept for the product. The mockups will help pinpoint all the necessary functionality and help the product owner and the developers in understanding the system better.
Design handover and design system documentation
After we get approval on the designs and see that they fit the intended purposes, we start documenting our approach in the form of a component library and screen framework diagrams and sheets. With this we achieve two very vital things - firstly we do an audit on our own work and correct mistakes or inconsistencies in the design, secondly it gives the development team the opportunity to create screens from scratch where needed based on the already established design system.
User testing
Every great design and idea needs to be tested with the final beneficiary of the product, so we set regular user interviews, focus groups and do A/B testings of new design concepts. This allows us to constantly receive and benefit from the end-user's feedback.
Rinse and repeat
The design process is an iterative and agile one. Ones we see what works and what doesn't we can go back to the drawing board and see what we've learned from the achieved things so far. This improves the overall product definition and keeps the team innovating for longer time periods.
