About this service

Summary

This project offers the complete development of a fully playable prototype or vertical slice for a first-person or third-person shooter, built using Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine (Blueprints/C++). The goal is to transform a client’s game concept into a functional, scalable, and polished prototype — one that not only showcases gameplay feel and technical reliability but also communicates the creative vision clearly to players, publishers, or investors.

FAQs

  • Do you also handle game design or just programming?

Both — I personally design and code every system, from player mechanics to AI and UI feedback. My focus is on ensuring the feel of gameplay matches the design intent — responsive, fluid, and satisfying. Full portfolio here https://on.contra.com/KGhGhm

  • Will the project include multiplayer?

Multiplayer support (via Photon, Mirror, or Unreal GAS/Replication) can be added as an optional feature in a separate milestone. For the base service, I focus on single-player systems with clean architecture ready for multiplayer extension.

  • What platforms can the game run on?

The prototype can target Windows, macOS, or WebGL. With small adjustments, it can also be prepared for console or VR deployment if required.

  • Can you deliver a playable demo for investors or Steam page?

Absolutely — I can prepare a vertical slice build optimized for presentation, trailers, or funding pitches, complete with UI polish and gameplay recording options.

  • Who owns the final project?

You retain full ownership of all code, assets, and documentation after final payment. The project will be delivered with clear folder structure and setup instructions.

  • What engine do you recommend — Unity or Unreal?

Unity: great for quick prototyping, mobile/web versions, and flexibility. Unreal: ideal for cinematic shooters, realistic visuals, and performance-heavy projects. We can decide together based on your goals and budget.

  • How do payments work?

Payments are managed securely through Contra escrow. Each milestone is funded upfront and released once the deliverables are approved by you.

  • Do you provide post-launch support or updates?

Yes — I offer optional post-delivery support for debugging, optimization, or feature extensions. Many clients choose to keep me on a monthly retainer to continue improving the prototype or build multiplayer modes later.
