Summary

With over 5 years of experience as in marketing/communications/PR/branding, social media management, content creation, creative project management, and content writing/copy writing, I utilize a unique approach that has helped brands, from small startups to large companies to nonprofits, take their digital (and traditional) marketing, as well as their communications, PR, and more, to the next level. I've worked with clients in every industry imaginable, and am always excited to learn about new fields, but consider my specialties to be the legal/government/civic field (including legal and civic tech), nonprofit/social impact/mission-driven organizations and companies (such as B corps), real estate (including brokers, agents, lawyers, investors, and bookkeepers), and music/entertainment/celebrities (for over 2 years, I was the Marketing and Communications Manager for the DWalker Brand, including its subdivision, the independent hip hop music label Augury Music Group; I am also a contributor for Hip Hop Insider). Just as with my VA and writing work, I don't have set rates- together, we decide on a fair rate of payment. I have suggested hourly rates of payment based on what I have typically been paid for my work, but I am willing to work with you and your budget, especially since I am new to Contra (though I have been very successful on Upwork for over 7 years!). I am also glad to provide you with a free one-week work trial to see if I am a good fit. In addition to hourly rates, I am open to doing a set weekly or monthly rate as well as a per-project price- I am flexible, because the numbers I care about the most are the ones involving the metrics/KPIs, social media followers, and profits of your company or organization!

  • What is your suggested/typical hourly rate?

    The typical hourly rate of payment for digital marketing-related work is $27 USD per hour, but as I state above, I am flexible and willing to work with you and our budget- including a set monthly or weekly payment rate, regardless of how many hours I actually work!

  • Marketing Strategy

    For successful marketing, it all starts with a great strategy. Over the last 5+ years, I've been utilizing my own unique strategies and techniques to help companies of all sizes and in all industries grow their success in all directions using what I call my "full circle approach", which combines elements of traditional and digital marketing, communications, outreach, networking, advertising, sales, and more, with compelling written and visual content and copy aimed at the target audience at the center of it all. With this approach, you build positive relationships with not just current and potential customers/clients, but also with the press, other businesses that you may want to partner with, and other important contacts in order to build a general circle of marketing, communications, and advertising success that works together to grow in all directions- resulting in brand engagement, brand following, and profits from all directions! As one of the initial parts of creating our general marketing strategy, we will identify our target consumer/client- demographics, pain points, wants, needs, goals, and how we can use the different areas of our "full circle approach" to craft content and copy that will engage this specific group of people.

  • Monitoring of metrics/KPIs

    Using programs such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or a CMS such as HubSpot, monitoring, measuring, and altering our metrics will be a key part of observing the success of our strategies, campaigns, and content. We will set benchmark goals based on industry standards, and if those goals are not reached or exceeded, use analytics to determine what went wrong and where we can make changes in order to reach out short and long-term goals.

  • Social Media marketing, management, and content creation

    Social Media is a crucial part of any brand's marketing strategy in today's digital world- but it is important to remember that not every platform is appropriate for every brand. Using our general marketing strategy, we will work together to create a social media marketing strategy (I have a template that has had success over the years), and then use that to create specific social media marketing strategies for each individual social media platform. I have extensive experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Youtube, TikTok, and more. I will conduct necessary research to figure out- initially- how many days per week we should post on each platform, and what days of the week and times are best for posting. This will likely require some A/B testing over time to figure out which days of the week and times result in the most successful engagement with followers. We can also use A/B testing to figure out the right content mix for each platform. Our brand voice and tone, as well as our brand font and color scheme and brand aesthetic, will be crucial parts in creating compelling, on-brand content to engage our target audience. I will utilize my top-notch writing skills along with my graphic design and video creation skills to craft content.

  • Email marketing

    Using our overall marketing strategy as a base, we will also create an email marketing strategy that works in tandem with our social media marketing strategy. This strategy may include frequent emails such as a weekly or monthly e-newsletter, or occasional campaigns announcing new products/services, giving email subscriber-only coupons, and more. Email marketing, in addition to SMS marketing, has a lot of options, and we may utilize some A/B Testing to figure out what works best with our target audience . I have extensive experience with email marketing programs including Constant Contact, MailChimp, Active Campaign, and Klaviyo, and if you have yet to choose the right marketing-related programs for you and your company, we will work together to pick out the right applications suitable for your needs and budget.

  • Market Research and Competitor Analysis

    Staying on top of the latest digital marketing and social media trends is crucial for marketing success, and I subscribe to the best digital marketing newsletters and news websites in order to know what's trending along with what is next (for example, learning about social media platforms that might not be well-known now, yet have the potential to become the next TikTok, which blew up practically overnight during the COVID-19 pandemic). Conducting specific market research relating to your industry, goals, and target consumer is extremely important for keeping our strategy and campaigns in check and for developing a true understanding of what our ideal consumer/client wants and needs. Competitor analysis is also very important for staying on top of the competition. I have some great resources for competitor analysis that will grant our team unique insight into what our competitors are doing right and wrong- and how we can use that information to our advantage.
