🌊 Throwback: Ninth Wave — where it all started. Back in 2020, early in my journey as a freelance logo designer, I got the chance to build the identity for Ninth Wave — a surf-inspired skincare brand rooted in ocean minimalism. The brief was simple but demanding: capture the feeling of salt water and sun-worn skin, without losing a premium, clean aesthetic. The result was a mark built from two overlapping waveforms — literally forming the "N" and "W." The color palette (soft ocean blue + deep matte black) was chosen to feel both coastal and elevated — because "surf brand" doesn't have to mean loud or busy. Sometimes restraint is the aesthetic. Looking back, Ninth Wave was one of the projects that shaped how I approach brand identity today — building marks that don't just look good, but feel like the world they belong to. Made for sun, salt & skin. 🏄‍♀️

The brand logo should have a really cool feel and be almost surf or skateboard style. The industry is recreational fishing and can crossover from fresh and saltwater fishing.

The company they are starting is a surf brand. It's going to start locally, then they will try to expand. They are putting this logo onto T-shirts, caps, and any other merch, so it needs to be classy but also surfy. They are going to make this logo be on the front of my T-shirt (Small) and then also on the back (BIG), so if it could be something that also looks good enlarged, that would be great. They Competitors are the main ones: Rip Curl, Quiksilver, Quick Silver, and Hurley. I would love the name SURF SHORE to be present on the logo, but they will remove the name on some items too, so make sure it also looks good without the name.
