Conserve Indiana educates voters about environmental and quality-of-life issues that affect Indiana’s land, air, water, and public health. The campaign encourages Hoosiers to support candidates and policies that protect the environment and promote a sustainable economy. I designed and built the Conserve Indiana website in only two days using Squarespace. The visual direction used subtle storytelling elements like a smog overlay on images and slow-motion footage of children playing to suggest the real human impact of environmental conditions such as asthma and emphysema. The site pairs those visuals with punchy, non-threatening headlines and clear typography to make the message accessible, emotionally resonant, and easy for visitors to understand and share.

MAYDAY! MAYDAY! MAYDAY! "Mayday" was a special project for me and should hit home with every visitor. Artist Susan Silton approached me in the Spring of 2020 to build her vision— one that could be easily edited and a site where visitors could quickly add a memorial for those who were lost to COVID-19. I built the dual-language project on Squarespace and ported the form to GoogleDocs through a Zapier connection. It's a project that will grow over time and should remain in place for ages. In December of 2020, I added an entry for my own Mother-in-law. It was a sorrowful experience, while at the same time, it was a good feeling to memorialize her in this way. https://www.maydaymaydaymaydayproject.com
