so guys, you see the best part of this career isn't the code, it's the people! apps ship because of teams and careers last because of the friends who were there when the release broke at midnight :) Tag someone who made you better at your job. š

Your paywall is a product feature. What I've seen work on apps that actually hit real MRR: ā Show the value before the paywall. Let users hit the "aha" moment first, then ask for money ā Test the paywall copy and pricing like any other feature. Don't treat it as a one-time decision ā Use RevenueCat (or similar) from day 1. Don't build subscription logic from scratch, because refunds, renewals, and restore-purchase edge cases will eat your month ā Track trial-to-paid conversion before you track downloads An app with 1,000 users and a good paywall beats an app with 10,000 users and a bad one.

The best client relationships I've seen all share one boring habit: a weekly demo. Every single week, no exceptions.

Every founder hits the same moment around month 6: "the codebase is a mess, we should rewrite it from scratch." Almost always, that's the wrong call š« A rewrite means 3-6 months of zero new features, while your competitors keep shipping. And the new codebase picks up its own mess by month 12, because the habits that created the first mess didn't change. What works instead: ā Fix the 20% of the code causing 80% of the bugs ā Add tests around the parts you're scared to touch ā Refactor while shipping features, not instead of them Rewrites feel like a fresh start. Most of the time they're just an expensive way to avoid fixing the habits
