Live project: https://omnimedia-engine.vercel.app Board Game Cafe is a full-stack application I built for a small business facing a common problem: games were rented out without reliable tracking, so customers would show up expecting an available game only to find it already checked out, and staff had no easy way to see what was actually on the shelf.
The app gives customers accounts to browse the catalog, favorite games, and check real-time availability before they arrive. On the staff side, it supports checking games in and out in just a few taps, links every rental to a customer account, and gives staff a live dashboard of what's out, what's due back, and what's overdue. Admins manage the catalog itself: adding games, tracking individual copies, and adjusting rental policy.
Built with Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Docker, and self-hosted on the business's own server.
What started as an availability problem became a full inventory and rental system that cut down on double-bookings and gave staff a fast, reliable way to track the shelf in real time.
