Projects using Microsoft Project in AucklandProjects using Microsoft Project in AucklandA new greenfield development to
create a new place for Aucklanders to live, work and play. Land
for development is a 53-hectare site that will see residential development
alongside, parks, retail and offices, located 35 kilometres south of the
Auckland CBD, on key public transport and roading networks.I provided project
management services during master planning and concept design to allow a Plan
Change and Resource Consent for a new mixed-use town centre near the new Drury
Central train station, focusing on a Transit Oriented Development (TOD). The
development will include commercial, retail, residential, and community spaces
as well as key roading infrastructure links.
The role was to work closely with
the development team, planners, architects, urban designers and engineers to
prepare a masterplan and Plan Change to bring the land forward for development
and to best determine the appropriate design and staging for the project’s
feasibility and to further the design and construction for the Resource Consent
for the first stage of the development, including subsequent management of bulk
earthworks, civil, roading, and infrastructure design and construction works. The Project involved the redevelopment of Gate A at Go Media Stadium, Mount Smart, addressing historic flooding, ground settlement and accessibility issues within a key arrival and operational area of the stadium. The works covered an area approximately 5,100m² and included upgrades to stormwater infrastructure, internal roads, pedestrian areas, utility services and lighting, together with new retaining structures, fencing, gates, bollards and a new public plaza. The project presented a number of challenges
associated with working within an operational stadium, including complex
stakeholder requirements, constrained access, existing ground conditions and
the need to coordinate works around major events. A key value added to the
project was the detailed communication pathways in conjunction with detailed
contingency plans (lots of "how do we resolve if x happens" scenario
testing), allowed us to quickly react to issues raised before or on event days
things were resolved within hours to allow events to proceed unimpacted by the
project works area. There were times urgent issues were raised with no
construction team on site and still closed within a hour.
