On the Nile between Heissa Island and the temple of Philae sits a steel vessel. Together with the community of Heissa, Nubian musicians, and local cultural practitioners, we are turning it into Merysai — a floating cultural home where the Kenzy language is spoken aloud, songs are shared across generations, and knowledge keeps moving between elders and the young.
My work is the cultural strategy, the creative direction, and the documentation: shaping the vision, building the international partnerships and funding architecture, and leading the storytelling that carries this from an idea on the water to a living place.
