Days Gone Navigation Study This study explores the menu navigation from Days Gone, not as a one-to-one recreation, but as a design and engineering study. The objective was to understand both the visual language and the technical implementation behind the interface, then rebuild it inside Unreal Engine using original assets, modular Blueprints, and reusable systems. Rather than reproducing the original assets, every visual element was recreated using original artwork and freely available resources while preserving the overall atmosphere, composition, and motion language.

Cover image for Diegetic Debris Menu Rethinking the Start
Diegetic Debris Menu Rethinking the Start Menu A Start Menu is one of the most conventional pieces of game UI. It works, it's familiar, and it's usually designed to get out of the player's way. For this UI Forge study, I wanted to challenge that assumption. Unreal Engine has some incredibly powerful features that are usually associated with gameplay, environments, VFX, or cinematics. Chaos Destruction is one of them. Destruction is visually exciting and, for some reason, watching things break apart is incredibly satisfying. So I started with a simple question: What happens if I take one of Unreal's coolest features and push it outside of its usual context, into UI? That led to the Diegetic Debris Menu. Instead of displaying menu text as a conventional overlay, the menu exists physically in the game world. Each option is represented by a pile of fractured debris. When selected, the debris rebuilds into a readable word. Navigate away and it collapses back into debris. The goal wasn't simply to make a menu look different. I wanted to create a different experience from interacting with a familiar piece of UI.

Cover image for This project recreates a modern
This project recreates a modern metaball page indicator for Unreal Engine, where the active dot smoothly blends and separates as it moves between pages. It's a simple but elegant effect that works great for carousels, onboarding screens, and menus. Features - Supports 1–10 pages - Adjustable dot size - Adjustable spacing between dots - Smooth metaball animation - Built entirely with Blueprints and a UI Material Included - Unreal Engine 5.4 project - UI Material - Widget Blueprint with the complete functionality - Example widget ready to explore and customize Files available in Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/cw/DaniMarti). If there's an interface from a game, app, or website you'd like to see recreated in Unreal Engine, leave a suggestion in the comments!

I recently got to work on titles and video editing for three different social edits for the new Once Upon a Katamari game. Here's the first one called "Roll Through History." It was great fun getting to do these!

I've been working on an area on the Dream Prompts website called "Workspace" which seamlessly integrates multiple AI image and video models to enable users to create without having to deal with a complex web of nodes. Just drop in an image from your desktop or generate one from a prompt, then change aspect ratios, add motion and sound, and more!
