From messy spreadsheets to clean, organized data.
I recently completed a personal Excel & CSV data-cleaning project using a fictional e-commerce dataset.
The original file contained 101 order records with inconsistent formatting, duplicate entries, mixed date formats, and missing information.
Here's what I improved:
Removed 5 duplicate records, leaving 96 clean rows
Standardized dates, names, and formatting
Corrected inconsistent text and status labels
Flagged 3 missing fields instead of guessing values
Prepared the results in Excel and CSV formats
The goal was simple: make the data easier to understand, maintain, and use for further analysis.
