What if CapCut edited patterns instead of videos?

For this CapCut Design Studio Challenge, I reimagined CapCut as a Pattern Editing Studio — a creative space where stories are transformed into evolving visual patterns.

Inspired by Indonesian pattern-making traditions and CapCut's editing workflow, I explored how timelines, layers, cuts, and transitions could become the building blocks of a new design language. Through Design Studio, I experimented with remixing cultural references, visual structures, and AI-assisted ideation to create Storyline Flow, a pattern system designed to preserve stories through contemporary visual expression. Rather than treating patterns as static decoration, this project imagines them as living creative assets that can be edited, remixed, and continuously evolved.
