I built a real creator cohort landing page to proof they're wrong.

Here's my honest take on what's actually shippable, and... what's "pure hype" 🧵

The brief: landing page for a creator cohort. Hero, features, pricing, FAQ, CTA. Fully clickable.

Time from prompt → working prototype: 10+ minutes.

That same scope in Figma, with comps + interactions? 4–6 hours minimum. notice is a prototype, not 100% shippable yet...

What floored me:

- 80% design system in 5 minutes - Custom sliders for spacing/type/color that AI generates, not me - Inline comments and it iterates without losing context - Real HTML, not pixels in a frame

Iteration loop is a step change.

Then I gave it our actual design tokens. Asked it to stay on-brand.

It nailed the vibe and got the system wrong.

- Type scale off on h2/h3 - Brand colors close, not exact - Components 'inspired by' our library, not faithful to it

Aesthetic-aware isn't always system-faithful.

My honest scorecard:

→ Faster than Figma from blank page to demo → Crushes the messy phase-zero draft ❌ Won't enforce your design system ❌ Can't reason through stateful flows ❌ Taste/judgment gap is wider than the demos suggest

Spot on.

In my work with organic growth, I’ve found that the 'feeling' of a brand is what drives performance, and that requires a human touch. As a Social Media Manager, I prioritize tools that support a professional Structure over those that just promise shortcuts. Excited to read the rest of this thread!
