I started design thinking; design is about making things look good.
But it's totally different — you have to think beyond just the UI or UX. I have been working on it for two weeks, with uneven meetings, thinking about:
Competitors' edge features
A lot of back-end stuff
How the HTML structure should be optimised
How the autonomous verification will work on each card, where the user can check whether the code is working or not
How the animations will look
How the verification screenshot will work, as there are millions of different checkout methods to cater to Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and other brands, all of which work differently
I don't know what we'll end up with, but there's still a lot of learning and exploration ahead.
Does presenting more design options actually give clients more freedom?
I’m starting to think the opposite can happen.
If I present 5 directions, the client now has to decide which one they like. If I present 1–2 strong, well thought-out directions, I’m also showing them what I think the brand needs.
