Sophos - Bronze statuette of a philosopher on a lamp stand
What would it be like if a robot were built in the future based on a statue created centuries ago? Imagine a statue made before the Common Era being recreated as an AI robot in 2036. In the past, people created statues of important figures from their own era. This still happens today, but nowadays people are also building robots, and in the future, we will see even more advanced robots being produced with cutting-edge technology. Perhaps robots capable of engaging in philosophy, just like the philosophers of the past.
For this challenge, I redesigned a small statue of a philosopher from the Metropolitan Museum of Art as an AI robot. This small statue is a scaled-down replica of a Greek sculpture from the 3rd century B.C.
Many philosophers lived in the past and addressed the masses. Many sculptors of that era created statues of these philosophers and other important figures. But what if robots had been produced back then? How would that have been? We cannot know, but we do know that robots are being produced today. In the future, we may see robots being produced that can engage in philosophy and generate ideas just like humans. Perhaps in 10 years, or maybe in 20 years...
