It's INSANE what @Rive scripting unlocks 😱🚗

I produced this mini driving game proof-of-concept for the Rive x @Contra HQ Scripting challenge in just a few days.

Browser-based, buttery smooth, only ~500 KB!

This latest version features:

• AI cars racing that stick to the track • Keyboard and/or mouse controls • Smart camera follow + shake on crash • Checkpoints & timed laps

What began as a quick experiment to test Rive's scripting capabilities is now dangerously close to a full game engine 🤯

For the most part it was fun! But frustrating at times! I learned to just keep things simple, just small incremental improvements and additions. The Rive agent is incredible, especially when resolving bugs. But I used a number of tools. I even used Chat GPT to improve my prompts...

Would you be interested in diving into the deep sea? 🌊

I built this submarine HUD in Rive, inspired by my fascination with the ocean.

It features core systems such as navigation, depth tracking, hull integrity, oxygen monitoring, and power distribution.

The design is kept minimal to avoid cluttering the layout, while the main interaction stays simple.

User can initiate a scan, detect signals, and explore what lies beneath, supported by subtle ambient animations.

Early attempts at Speech and Expression sync. Using Eleven labs API for text to speech—at least for testing— we generate viseme timestamps that we can then pass to code and then map in Rive.

I plan to add other means of bodily expressions, and obviously the UI, but for a first draft, looks promising.
