I wired tenantId and role into the Auth.js v5 session callback last year, and it still runs fine in production.

What moved is around it. Better Auth now ships organization and member tables as a first-class plugin, so the scaffolding I hand-rolled comes standard. Live v5 apps need no rewrite.
