One of my favorite parts of a new website or funnel project actually happens before I design anything.
It’s when we start talking about the systems.
Sometimes a client already knows exactly what she wants to use.
“I want this in Kajabi.”
“My website is already in WordPress.”
“I’ve been looking at Showit.”
Other times, she has a few different platforms in mind. Or she already has pieces of her business running in different places and wants to know what makes the most sense to add next without creating a complicated mess.
I LOVE this part.
After 7+ years of working across so many different platforms and systems, I’ve gotten to see them from the inside.
WordPress. Kajabi. GoHighLevel. ClickFunnels. ThriveCart. Showit. Kartra. Zapier. And plenty of others.
You start to understand that they’re not simply interchangeable tools with different logos.
Some overlap.
Some can completely replace another tool in a particular business.
Some are fantastic at one thing and unnecessarily complicated for another.
And sometimes the platform everyone is talking about is simply not the platform I would recommend for that particular client.
So I really enjoy being able to look at what someone already has, what she’s trying to build, where the business is going, and say:
Here are the 1–3 options I’d actually consider for this.
Here’s what I like about each one.
Here’s what I wouldn’t use for your situation.
And here’s what I think will make the most sense for you long term.
Then I get to actually go in and build it.
Not only the branding and the pages people see, but the checkout setups, integrations, redirects, automations, delivery systems and all the little pieces behind them that need to work together.
I think that’s probably why “designer” has never completely described what I do.
I love the visual side.
But give me the systems behind the visual side too.
That part is just as fun for me.
