For the #FLORAMuseum challenge, I wanted to bridge the gap between early human curiosity and the future of data.
I chose the 1462 Regiomontanus Astrolabe from The Met's open archive (https://shorturl.at/UqE2h).
What blew me away about this instrument is that over 500 years ago, people with an average lifespan of 30–35 years used pure physics, faith, and copper craft to map the entire night sky and find meaning in the universe. It proves that no matter how small we feel, human curiosity is limitless.
In this FLORA canvas project, I built a home for it in 2125: an architectural, dark-mode museum gallery where the astrolabe sits under protective glass beneath massive holographic star charts and server monoliths. We might be moving toward a cyberpunk future driven by data science and digital systems, but our coordinates will always trace back to instruments like this. The tools change; our instinct to look at the stars and extract meaning never does.

I have always wondered what it would feel like for Van Gogh to step inside one of his own paintings. Not simply to visit it, but to finally live within the beauty and peace he created for everyone else.
His self-portrait shows a young artist determined to improve, even when he could not afford a model. Just two years later, he painted Wheat Field with Cypresses, which he considered one of his best summer landscapes. He described its cypresses as “a splash of black in a sunny landscape.”
That line became the emotional center of my piece. It felt like more than a description of the painting. It felt like a reflection of his life, carrying so much darkness while still creating something full of color, movement, and light.
Using Flora AI, I imagined him entering that landscape and slowly becoming part of it. A version of paradise where he is no longer restless or fighting to be understood. A place where he can finally see that his work survived, that it mattered, and that the world eventually saw what he was trying to show us.
He never received that peace or recognition during his lifetime.
This is my small way of giving it to him. 🌾
NAYMLAP: The Piercing Vision
An entry for The Met x FLORA Museum Challenge
A thousand years ago, a Sicán ruler on Peru's north coast was buried wearing a mask of hammered gold and cinnabar red its winged eyes marked with the Sicán Deity's "piercing vision," believed to guide the dead into ancestorhood.
For this project, I reimagined that same mask as a piece of wearable fashion: sculptural gold sunglasses that carry over its exact material language — the hammered gold, the cinnabar and verdigris patina, the winged eye silhouette, and even its original gold danglers built for the living instead of the dead.

— Concept exploration (15+ directions branching off the original mask)
— Symmetry and detail refinement
— A custom studio environment ("the Gold Chamber") built entirely from the mask's own palette
— A full campaign shoot inside that space

✨ For this challenge, I reimagined an Arts and Crafts cabinet from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Open Access collection by bringing the painted figures on its surface to life.
🎨 What interested me most was the relationship between the painting and the cabinet as a physical object. Instead of simply animating the figures, I wanted their actions to affect the cabinet itself, allowing the painted world and the functional object to briefly interact before returning to its original state.
🌿 I explored and developed the concept in FLORA, creating multiple variations, testing timing, extending scenes, and building the final sequence through an iterative visual process.
🎙️ The project walkthrough voiceover was created with ElevenLabs, and the original music was generated with Suno.
