Guys, new here. So figured I give a quick intro.
A little about me. I have been in and out of entrepreneurship and various artistic projects for over 20 years now (yup, I'm THAT old).
I've always been drawn to creative work but choose my main career in science. So it has definitely shaped the way I create and approach projects and how I've ran my businesses.
I've always loved creating but younger me never had a real process for getting stuff done, so often things got left unfinished or approached in a messy way.
This is definitely something I have "borrowed" from my time as a scientist. Structure and processes that help me get through my creative process faster and more efficiently.
Anyway, that's the short version, would love to connect and learn more about everyone on here.

Welcome! Borrowing structure from your science background to tame a messy creative process is a great combo, most people go the opposite direction and just wing the business side. What's one habit from your scientist years that ended up helping your creative work the most?
Testing testing testing. Often I have an idea (like having an initial hypothesis), but when I test many different variations I often find things I like better than my original idea.

Excited to finally start sharing my work and meeting other creatives on Contra.
Starting with KIZEN, a Japanese-inspired editorial poster exploring bold typography, texture, and simplicity.
I’d love to connect with designers, developers, and creatives here.
What are you currently working on? 👀
The restraint works because KIZEN takes all the weight and everything else sits at one small size, so the vertical Japanese column ends up doing a lot of quiet work holding the right edge. Currently deep in packaging identity, where that same simplicity always has to negotiate with mandatory copy.
A few highlights from part of my fav projects I’ve worked on over the past few years. Some of them are brand identity, some websites+brand identity products.
Different industries and different stages, but the goal was always the same: build crispy, flexible visual systems that scale cleanly from screens to physical materials.
