A Mountain, a Wave, and Two New Pantone Colors: PANTONE® just named two new colors after my country: Portugal. I’m still not over it! Working with Peugeot, they created Alvao Green, inspired by the Serra do Alvão mountains, and Nazare Blue, inspired by the giant waves of Nazaré. Both are launching on the new 208 and 2008 ENVY editions. Here’s why I can’t stop thinking about it: a hex code is just data. Call it Nazare Blue, and it becomes a place, a mood, a memory. That’s the whole game in branding. The small decisions nobody asks about are usually the ones that make something feel real instead of just designed. Also, not going to lie, seeing a mountain and a fishing village I grew up hearing about become official car colors, validated by the biggest name in color, hits different when it’s your own country.
