Designers 🤝 Photographers: "Let's add some noise/grain to this" 😆
With such few elements in this scene, I decided to add grain to bring in some texture. It adds an analog warmth and transforms the flat sky into a character of its own.
After some colour grading, I added a linear gradient from the top down (ending just past the top of the lamp post), reducing the exposure to make for a moodier feel and to accentuate the shift from dark to light in the morning sky.
I am quite happy with this shot! There is something about super simple compositions and the abstraction of everyday things that I just love.
