How do you spot a real technical writer? Ask them how they explain things. If they start with “I simplify complex ideas,” don’t stop there. Anyone can say that, what matters is how they actually do it. Instead, ask for a sample that shows it. Because you can’t fake clarity. That’s the part that separates good from great. Technical writing isn’t about proving you know it. It’s about making sure someone else does. And that’s the whole point.
