Why I stopped using WordPress heading into 2026
My move away from WordPress started over a year ago.
Part of it was philosophical — I struggled with some of the decisions and community direction under Matt Mullenweg — but more importantly, I could see a clear shift in technology and user behaviour.
I come from a PHP background. Twenty years ago, PHP powered huge parts of the web, and WordPress was genuinely revolutionary. It was arguably the first “low-code” CMS from a client’s point of view and the first to create a global plugin ecosystem. Clients loved the control. Full post here...
