For this Glow Up ✨ Challenge, I chose Impossible Moon Bookshop, a woman-owned independent bookstore in my cutesy neighborhood, right outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
Their existing website had heart, but I wanted to create a digital experience that felt as warm, thoughtful, and community-centered as walking into the shop itself.

The redesign leans into a whimsical aesthetic with custom illustrations, subtle motion (don't miss the animated starry background ✨), curated staff picks, featured events, and spaces that celebrate both readers and local community. Beyond the visual refresh, I focused on building tools that support the bookstore's day-to-day operations, including CMS-powered Staff Picks and Events, a preorder reservation workflow with automated confirmation emails, and the Moon Navigator, which is a data-powered automation that answers common questions to free up the bookkeeper's email inbox and time.
The goal wasn't just to give the website a fresh coat of paint, but to create something that feels authentic to the bookstore and its keeper while making it easier for her to manage, grow, and connect with the community.
I had a lot of fun bringing this one to life, and I hope it feels like the kind of site that makes you want to stop in for a visit. šŸŒ™šŸ“š
