Thirteen shots, thirteen worlds, no camera. A 51-second showreel for my studio, PIOM: light, matter, camera moves and performance, each shot built from a storyboard and cut in motion so the film reads as one movement.
Stressa here (again)! for my second entry, I wanted to make another little cinematic adventure, but this time it’s about Stressella’s frens going to CapCut World LA 🦆✨
It all started when these little guys had been hearing about CapCut World NONSTOP. Every day, it’s CapCut World this, CapCut World that. And honestly? They got a little TOO invested lol.
And off they went. No proper travel plans, no tickets, just an expired Wishing Dust and colossal yellow duck with a propeller helmet. They flew through the clouds, startled half the birds in Cornwall, splashed down in Marina del Rey, and started running through LA like they had an actual appointment to keep.
I wanted to turn all that CapCut World hype into a chaotic little adventure, with cinematic scenery, ridiculous characters, and the kind of journey that absolutely did not need a 12-metre duck but got one anyway.
This was alsoooo genuinely so much fun to make! I hope you have as much fun watching it as I did creating it! wml 🤞🥹
🌊✨ What if following a mermaid led you to a whole new world?
For the CapCut World LA Challenge, I came up with a little fantasy story about a young man who encounters a mysterious mermaid in the ocean and follows her to a hidden island filled with lights, music, and celebration. 🎬
I wanted to make it feel like stepping into a dreamy, dark fairy tale, with beautiful visuals, magical moments, and smooth transitions that make the whole journey feel connected.
This was such a fun concept to explore, and I loved bringing together AI filmmaking, storytelling, and cinematic visuals to bring the idea to life.
Rocket Roadster: Escaping Traffic to the Main Stage
Getting to CapCut World LA shouldn’t require a boring Uber ride. Trapped in iconic bumper-to-bumper Los Angeles freeway traffic with the live keynote starting, our protagonist discovers his Tesla Roadster has an undocumented feature: “CCW Mode.” All four wheels mechanically split open to deploy high-output plasma rocket thrusters, launching the car vertically over gridlock. After a supersonic flight over the Downtown LA skyline—snatching a VIP badge dropped by an automated CapCut drone mid-air—the Roadster banks through the arena roof and pulls off an epic 180° tire-smoking drift directly onto the keynote stage.
1. Character & Asset Consistency:
Established a locked protagonist reference image (24-year-old creator in charcoal hoodie, matte-black watch) and vehicle asset (metallic cherry-red Tesla Roadster) to maintain 100% visual fidelity across generations.
2. AI Video Generation (Seedance 2.5):
Structured a 30-second multi-scene prompt divided into 5 distinct sequential beats (Traffic Jam $\rightarrow$ Wheel Thruster Deployment $\rightarrow$ Vertical Takeoff $\rightarrow$ LA Skyline Drone Badge Catch $\rightarrow$ Main Stage Drift Landing).
Prompted with explicit camera movements (interior Dutch angle, macro mechanical close-ups, FPV aerial chase, and low-angle hero tilt-up).
3. Post-Production & Sound Design in CapCut Video Studio:
Visuals: Speed-ramped the liftoff and stage drift for cinematic impact; enhanced the plasma thruster glow and stage pyrotechnics.
Audio Engineering: Built a custom multi-track soundscape featuring realistic LA traffic Foley, titanium mechanical clicks, 808 sub-bass rocket ignition, high-speed wind shear, and synchronized the tire-screech landing with a heavy EDM festival bass drop and cheering crowd reverb.
