Building in Public | L’ÉLITE BALLET 🩰
A ballet company has more to offer than performances. It has a story, a legacy, and an art form that deserves to be experienced before the curtain even rises.
I explored how that experience could translate into a digital product.
The challenge
How do you design a website that communicates the elegance and prestige of a ballet company without overwhelming visitors with information?
The approach
I built the experience around visual storytelling, using cinematic ballet photography, editorial typography, a black-and-ivory palette, and refined gold accents to establish a premium identity.
The solution
The website brings the company's story to life through:
→ A cinematic hero section that sets the mood → A company introduction that communicates its artistic philosophy → Production cards that showcase current performances → Principal dancer profiles that put the artists in focus → A curated gallery that captures the beauty of ballet → Clear navigation to help visitors explore and discover performances
The design decision
Rather than making every section compete for attention, I used contrast, whitespace, and imagery to create a natural rhythm — much like a ballet performance itself.
The result is a website concept that connects the company's artistic identity with a refined digital experience.
Building isn't just about making things look good. It's about understanding what an experience should communicate and designing around it.
