Finding the Domain Core Inside a B2B SaaS Workflow

This is a product-systems analysis based on my Domain Core–Driven Design (DCDD) approach.

The idea is simple:

Before designing APIs, data models, or automation logic, we need to understand the core workflow behind the product.

In many B2B SaaS systems, the domain core is not always visible in a single feature. It is often hidden inside the lifecycle of a business object moving through states, rules, validations, human review points, external integrations, and feedback signals.

One key idea from the article:

The backend is not just an API layer.
It is the memory of the business process.

This reflects how I approach backend and API-heavy systems: first clarify the core workflow, then design the APIs, data models, state transitions, documentation, and integrations around it.
