I could have given up... It was my choice. But it's the hard path, not ready made code copied and pasted from Claude, for example, that made me a finisher.
I revere each environment. Dev environment to me is now as important as testing and staging environments.
Nothing reaches production unless I'm sure things are server side validated, or be accompanied by it. Authetication, rate limits... Nothing reaches prod if i don't review each line of code, structure, what happens when rate limits are hit in the last second before the window resets and requests from the same user, for example, arrive again in the first second after the reset. Buckets here have been useful.
This brings me back to the first 2 lines. I could have given up. It was my choice. But the fundamental seemingly-boring things like ML and CI/CD pipelines made me choose finishing... so, I chose to be a finisher.
P.S. And I'm sure complaining isn't a strategy for a finisher. If you're a finisher, and the inevitable hurdles like someone favouring others over you when you've the merit, for example, handle it gracefully. When meritocracy is compromised, handle it graceeeefulllllly.. I now believe that's a form of intelligence. And continue doing what you do... Sorry if it sounds like I'm patronising you...
