Meet KATHARA, a mobile streaming app concept connecting independent creators with viewers through short, vertical series.

Over five weeks, I designed an iOS experience around two connected journeys: discovering your next series and sharing your own.

The design brings together a full-screen viewing feed, one-tap episode navigation, personalized discovery, and community conversations with spoiler warnings. For creators, dedicated publishing flows and monetization options support the journey from releasing a first episode to building an audience.

What would make you give an independent series its first watch?

A document marked available offline that opens as a damaged file usually means the badge was set when the download started, not when the bytes were checked. The same shortcut saves an error page as a PDF: a server can return HTML with status 200, and an app that only asks whether a file arrived will store it under the final name. Download into a temporary file next to the final one, compare the byte count and SHA-256 against what your catalog publishes for that document, check the PDF header and end marker, and only then rename the file and write the record. Keep the library in application support rather than a cache or temporary folder, since both can be cleared by the system. The ordering is what protects the user.
