Between 2018 and 2019, I built The End of Emotional Privacy, my Master's thesis at IAAC exploring how empathy could be felt physically.
I designed a bodysuit that translates emotions into real-time heat, using infrared sensors to read body temperature and heat pads built from conductive thread, so happiness, sadness, anxiety, and fear could be physically felt on the wearer's back. I paired it with a live p5.js visualization so people could see the detected emotional state as well as feel it.
It was selected for Global Grad Show in Dubai, later exhibited at the Design Museum of Barcelona, and covered by El País and TV3.

For this Smart Home mobile app concept, we designed a centralized experience for managing connected devices, rooms, temperature, lighting and home security.
The interface uses clear hierarchy and straightforward controls so users can understand the state of their home at a glance and take action without unnecessary steps.
The visual direction is clean and modern, while the UX keeps the focus on practical everyday interactions.

🙌 E-Strum: App + Device for Tracking Light Availability at Home
ABOUT THE APP:
Scheduled and unscheduled power outages in Ukraine made it hard for people to plan their day. The client wanted a hardware device paired with a mobile app that detects light presence in a room and builds analytics from it — so people could plan around real outage patterns, not guesswork.
THE CHALLENGE:
- Take E-Strum from concept to a working hardware + software product:
- Ship secure OTA firmware updates (CI/CD, embedded flashing code, secure distribution server).
- Handle high device load without degrading service.
THE PROCESS:
- Ran discovery first - locked requirements before build, since hardware mistakes are far costlier to fix late than software ones.
- Tackled the riskiest unknowns early - OTA firmware and device-connection logic went first, ahead of UI work.
- Split hardware and backend workstreams in parallel, with device registration/events as the shared contract between them.
THE RESULTS
- Rolled out OTA firmware updates to 1,000+ connected devices with zero manual re-flashing required 💯
Kept backend response times under 300ms even as concurrent connected devices scaled past 1,200 🙌
Held device-connection success rate at 97%+ on first attempt under real-world Wi-Fi conditions 🧠
