A UI showreel I worked on earlier this year for a product design agency.
The challenge was finding that sweet spot between “this is too slow” and “wait… what did I just see?” 😂
The goal was to showcase their work while giving each piece enough time to actually be appreciated.
A lot of the work was in the pacing, knowing when to move, when to pause, and when to simply let the design breathe.
My portfolio gallery used to just pop open. no animation at all, 14 screenshots appear in one frame. looked kinda cheap
switched it to a spring animation (Motion). now it opens in about 0.2s and actually feels smooth
also I didn't edit this video myself. gave Claude Opus 5.5 my two screen recordings and asked it to make a before/after. it cut it, added the zoom and the slow-mo part at the end and rendered it in 4K. kinda crazy honestly
