Hey everyone, how are you deciding what software to invest time in?
There are so many incredible options and I just feel like a deer in the headlights. I want to create, but it takes time to learn how to use it properly, but they evolve so quickly it feels like Whack-a-mole.
I see all the incredible work you guys are producing and I am too overwhelmed to know where to start. I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts/experience/advice on this? Thanks!

A motion designer recently watched a one-minute branded animation recreated from their visual reference in roughly 15 minutes.
The most interesting question wasn’t whether the result looked good.
It was what happens when the client asks for precise revisions, consistent branding, editable files, and changes that need to carry across every scene.
The first draft is becoming cheaper.
Creative control is not.
For real client work, where do you think the value sits now?

I’m especially curious whether clients and creatives would answer this differently.

I built Northline Flow for @Lovable’s #lovablechallenge — a fictional owner-operated home-services business in Surrey, BC.
I didn’t want to build another prettier scheduler. The problem I wanted to attack was the handling around the booking.
Routine requests can continue toward booking. Genuine ambiguity reaches the owner as one framed decision. Unsafe or wrong-fit requests stop instead of being forced into the normal booking path.
I also built a deterministic test harness and a playable Morning Shift proof mode: three fictional requests enter the same routing rules, but only one requires a human decision.
The part I’m most excited about is that the challenge itself became reusable. We captured the process from brief → working flow → adversarial testing → cinematic donor → bounded visual integration → playable proof → final freeze.

A UI showreel I worked on earlier this year for a product design agency.
The challenge was finding that sweet spot between “this is too slow” and “wait… what did I just see?” 😂
The goal was to showcase their work while giving each piece enough time to actually be appreciated.
A lot of the work was in the pacing, knowing when to move, when to pause, and when to simply let the design breathe.
The pacing sounds really intentional knowing when to pause can make a showcase feel much more engaging.
