Shopify quietly started sharing compare-at prices with AI shopping agents through Shopify Catalog as of October 9. If a product has a strikethrough original price next to the sale price, AI agents browsing your catalog can now see it's marked down, not just that it has a price. This matters more than it sounds. A lot of stores only ever show the sale price in their feed data, the original compare-at value never gets structured anywhere an agent could actually read it. If your store runs regular promotions, worth checking that compare-at is filled in on the active variant itself, not just styled visually on the PDP. An empty compare-at field means agents and feeds see one price, no signal that it's a deal at all.
