Seriously though who knew pixel art was so hard? I had so much to work with on this one and it was still a challenge.

Would love to do another challenge run with this one with an even lower resolution to stretch my skills.

I don't usually like to complain about clients on here, but the client on this project was an absolute NIGHTMARE to work with ;)

There's truly nothing worse as an illustrator than trying to make an illustration for yourself! I went through so many ideas and styles before landing on this one.

Of course the final design I landed on is the one I was secretly wanting to do from the start. I kept coming up with reasons not to - it doesn't quite match the style in my portfolio, the colors are weird, there's not enough deep symbolism, blah blah... but in the end this was the only design that felt right.
