When I saw this Valentino red, I immediately knew I wanted to shoot it differently. There is something about that particular red. Very confident, very feminine, a little provocative. My first references were leather, latex and that slightly femme fatale energy, so I built the shoot around that mood. And yes, I decided to model for my own content this time. I wanted it to feel less like a standard lipstick photograph and more like a fashion image, where the lipstick is what starts the whole story. I really enjoy this side of creating: finding a product, building a mood around it and then getting in front of the camera to bring the idea together. Sometimes I’m the one creating the concept. Sometimes I’m behind the camera. And sometimes, I’m the model too. This was simply my little take on Valentino red.
