Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm looking to improve my illustration skills. Can anyone recommend any resources that have helped them? I'm someone who likes drawing and is creative but a bit out of practice + I haven't done a huge amount of digital drawing/art before. I bought an Ipad last year but haven't used it as much as I intended. I think a big thing is to just get more confident + regular practice. Are there any daily or weekly challenges that I might be good to get started with? Let me know what things have helped you! :)

@George Rowland i done the same a few years ago. Brought an ipad to learn digital drawing. I hyper fixated for a few weeks and havenโ€™t opened procreate in months ๐Ÿ™ƒ.
Anyway I found art with flo on YT to be the only channel that was actually helpful and went into detail on how to do everything.

Art with Flo

Go with Flo! Creative drawing lessons for everyone. Flo will teach you all about drawing and painting on an iPad, mostly in the app Procreateยฎ. Floโ€™s lessons are for everyone, you donโ€™t need any experience at all. Anyone can have fun creating!

@George Rowland I'm the same, I need to show my iPad some more love ๐Ÿ˜†
There is an illustrator by the name of Flo on YouTube who has a bunch of great tutorials! Following along with her helps to break down different steps and phases of making a piece in actual practice.

@Madi ๐Ÿ’ซ Thanks, this is the kind of thing I'm looking for! I think my gf used to do similar drawing challenges on Instagram a few years ago. Think I'll try some tutorials and get back into practice - then when more confident, I'll try a challenge ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

@George Rowland If you have live drawing sessions near you I highly encourage you to make it a habit, I can swear by that! Besides the accountability these events are also very social

@Maria Leonor Nogueira Thank you! Your recent post of your illustrations made me want to pick up a pencil and start drawing. I actually come from an art background and studied drawing and painting! But in my late 20s, when I started learning design for a career change, I fell out of practice. I...

@George Rowland Apologies for the late reply here.
I totally get you! Drawing from imagination or memory for me it's still tricky. I think it takes a loooot of practice. Maybe a good first step for you is to draw just for fun.
I go to informal drawing sessions where the participants model for...
